The Gupta Empire stretched across northern, central and parts of southern India between c. ДЇollowing the invasions, northern India was left in disarray, with numerous smaller Indian powers emerging after the crumbling of the Guptas. At its zenith from approximately 319 to 550 CE it covered much of the Indian subcontinent. The Gupta Empire was an ancient Indian empire, existing from approximately 240 to 590 CE.
